Express Entry Draw #231 | CRS score continues to drop
The Immigration Department of Canada, i.e., Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), held a general Express Entry Draw #231 on September 14, 2022 (at 13:29:26 UTC). The draw was conducted for programs including:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Federal Skilled Trades Program, and
- Canadian Experience Class
Under this latest Express Entry Draw #231, a total of 3,250 Invitations to apply Permanent Residence Visa to those with a CRS score of 510 It is 5 points less than the previous draw. Also, Canada issued 500 more invitations in this draw compared to the previous round of 2,750 invitations.

When Will the Next Express Entry Draw Be?
The IRCC states that all program Express Entry draws will continue to be held on a bi-weekly basis. Following this schedule, the next anticipated all-program Express Entry draw is expected to occur on September 28th, 2022.
How Many Applicants in the Express Entry Pool:
According to IRCC 238,273 immigrants had successfully submitted their profiles as of September 12, 2022. And, based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, the highest number of immigrants, i.e., 68,857, have a CRS score of 351 – 400, followed by 63,860 immigrants having a CRS Score between 451 – 500.
Bill C-19
Bill C-19, which was announced earlier this year, will allow the immigration minister to invite candidates based on groupings rather than based only on CRS scores. Groupings could include a combination of work experience with in-demand occupations or a set of occupations, language proficiency, and educational background. Because candidates will be ranked against others in their grouping rather than the whole Express Entry pool, the CRS cut-off is likely to be significantly lower compared to the general draws that we have been seeing recently.
