The 155th draw for Express Entry permanent residence candidates happened on July 8, 2020, and was an all-program draw.

It has resulted in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points requirement for receiving an invitation to apply (ITA) to increase as compared to the previous all-program draw on March 4, 2020.

The CRS score of the lowest-ranked invited candidate was 478, with 3,900 ITAs issued in total.

As with the previous draws, a tie-break rule was used. As a bunch of candidates have the same 478 score, only those who have created their profile before February 11, 2020 at 03:17:13 UTC will get an ITA.

Since COVID-19 became a public health crisis in Canada, IRCC had been restricting draws to candidates from either Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC). However, on July 8, Express Entry returned to all-program draws for the first time in more than four months.

As expected, the CRS score cut-off was higher than before the restricted draws, at 478 points. Although, this is only a few points higher than it was prior to COVID-19, so FSW candidates still in the pool have reasons to be cautiously optimistic that the cut-off score may come down over upcoming draws.
