This is the first Express Entry draw of July 2023. Canada is inviting thousands of immigrants to apply for Permanent Residency every month.
The next express entry draw #254 is expected to occur on July 5th, 2023.
Surprise All-Program Draw
Express Entry draw 253 issued 700 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) of 511. There was no program specified for the draw, meaning that invitations were issued to candidates from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
Today’s draw came as a bit of a surprise as the IRCC has already announced that there should be another healthcare targeted draw tomorrow, and a STEM targeted draw sometime this week.
New Priority Occupations for Express Entry
On May 31st, 2023, IRCC announced a new method of category-based selection for Express Entry which allows Canada to extend invitations (ITAs) to apply to prospective permanent residents who have specified skills, training, or language ability. These draws began on June 28, 2023 and we can expect to see these types of draws continuing throughout the year.
