IRCC Conducts First French-Language Category Express Entry Draw

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced Express Entry Draw 256 under its newly launched French language proficiency stream in Express Entry, issuing 2,300 ITAs to foreign nationals who had 439 CRS points or more. The latest draw took place on July 07, 2023 at 13:11:16 UTC.

IRCC has conducted its fourth Express Entry draw of the week. This was the first-ever category-based Express Entry draw for the French-Language Proficiency category.

Four continuous draw in a week

Here’s a breakdown of the four-draw week in Express Entry:

• On July 4, 2023: an all-program draw resulted in 700 invitations issued to candidates with 511 or more CRS points. All-program draws have been a fairly standard feature of Express Entry for years, though on this occasion fewer invitations were issued than normal.
• On July 5, 2023: First ever STEM-category Express Entry draw. The 500 invitees required 486 or more CRS points.
• On July 6, 2023: 1,500 invitations were issued to candidates with relevant experience in a targeted healthcare occupation. To snag an invitation in this draw, candidates needed at least 463 CRS points. This was the second ever Express Entry draw for healthcare candidates.
• On July 7, 2023: 2,300 ITAs issued to who had 439 CRS points with French-language proficiency.
