IELTS Update: “One Skill Retake” To Be Effective From March 2023 in India
According to a recent update, IELTS announced “One Skill Retake” from March 2023 in India. This provision in which candidates will have the liberty to appear only for the module in which they have scored less. It means that now they don’t have to appear for all the four modules of the IELTS exam.
Starting March 2023, students will have the option of retaking the IELTS for one component if they did not get the desired score on the first attempt.
Currently, students must retake the entire test for all four modules: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. So, if a student wants to improve their band score, they will have to take the whole test again instead of only retaking the module.
This is good news for students, as they will not have to go through the pressure of appearing for the whole exam again. They can peacefully focus on improving the only required area. This decision may also increase the number of IELTS registrations. One skill retake will be a second chance for the students to show their full potential.
