Canada sets record-high immigration targets
Last week, Canada released its Immigration Levels Plan for 2023-2025. The plan outlines record-high immigration targets for the next three years. By 2025, Canada aims to admit 500,000 new permanent residents in a single year.
The majority of Canada’s new permanent resident admissions, approximately 57 to 60 percent, will come through economic immigration pathways. Express Entry admissions will continue to climb annually, increasing from a target of 82,880 in 2023 to a target of 114,000 in 2025.
FSW and CEC draws resume
After a pause of almost 19 months, Canada started holding Express Entry FSW draws and CEC draws again on July 6, 2022.
The Express Entry draws held on July 6, July 20, August 3, August 17, August 31, September 14, September 28, October 12, October 26, and November 9, 2022 were “all-programs” draws which means that all candidates in the Express Entry pool were eligible to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.
